Description This course covers the tasks that are prerequisite for an mechatronics technician. Mechatronics is an emerging field that involves the installation, set-up, operation and troubleshooting of automated and programmable production cells and systems. The prerequisite skills covered are: AC/DC electrical circuits and equipment; electrical control systems; electronic sensores; programmable logic controllers; pneumatic power systems and applications; robotic material handling systems; mechanical systems; and flexible manufacturing systems. Basic theory and hands-on training will prepare the trainee for entry level employment and/or for advanced mechatronics training.
