Description The AET program is a third- and fourth-year program that concentrates on engineering skills required by the automotive industry. Students receive hands-on laboratory experience in engineering processes, mechanical testing, metallurgy, emission and dynamometer testing. In addition, an on-the-job engineering internship is an important part of the program. AET is an instructional program that prepares individuals to apply basic engineering principles and technical skills in support of engineers and other professionals engaged in developing, manufacturing and testing self-propelled ground vehicles and their systems. Includes instruction in vehicular systems technology, design and development testing, instrument calibration, test equipment operation and maintenance, and report preparation.

Admission Requirements Students entering the Automotive Engineering Technology program must have completed the two-year associate degree program at Ferris in Automotive Technology or an equivalent associate degree from another institution. Students must have a minimum 2.75 GPA in automotive courses and a minimum 2.5 GPA overall. They also must be ready for MATH 116.
