Description The Heating, Air Conditioning, Ventilation, and Refrigeration (HACVR) program prepares students with the knowledge and skills they will need to install, repair and maintain heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems while using the equipment utilized by industry trainers and on the actual job. Information on scientific principles of heat transfer, electrical, ventilation, hydronics and control systems is basic to the HACVR program. In addition, students will learn about environmental rules and regulations, read blueprints, and demonstrate the basic skills required to install residential and light commercial systems. Students who complete the program will also acquire advanced critical thinking, career development, applied academic, life management, business, economic and leadership skills for entry-level jobs and industry related certifications.
