Description The Climate Control Technology program provides the student comprehensive training in the service and installation of residential/light commercial heating systems, including hydronic heating systems, residential/ light commercial air conditioning systems, and domestic and light commercial refrigeration systems. In addition, the program covers the basic fundamentals of property maintenance to include basic plumbing, drywall, residential electrical, and major appliances. The program utilizes both theory and hands-on application to provide the student with both the basic and advanced knowledge and skills necessary to obtain entry-level employment in the field of HVAC/R. Program courses include: Electrical Theory and Application; Heating; Air Conditioning; Refrigeration; Troubleshooting; Installation; Hydronic Heating Systems, Property Maintenance, and Heat Pumps.

Admission Requirements Northwestern Tech. admits as regular students persons who have a high school diploma or the recognized equivalent of a high school diploma, such as a GED. Applicants not meeting these criteria, but who are beyond the age of compulsory school attendance may be admitted if they demonstrate the ability to benefit from the training by obtaining a satisfactory score on the appropriate ability to benefit test.
