Description The Automotive Technology certificate program is designed to develop the skills, knowledge and abilities required for entry-level positions in the automotive industry. Students successfully completing the core courses and all courses in three of the five specialty areas will have the technical skills required to properly diagnose, repair, and maintain the parts and systems comprising the modern automobile in the specific areas chosen. The program also offers a solid preparation for passing the certification testing (in the specific areas chosen) by government and private organizations. Skill specific certificates are available in the following specialties: Brakes and Suspension (13 semester hour), Drivability and Diagnosis (17 semester hours), Driveline (15 semester hours), Electrical and Air Conditioning (16 semester hours), and Engines (15 semester hours).
