Description The KVCC Automotive Academy provides an accelerated, competency based program through which participants can expect to gain the skills and credentials necessary to begin a successful career as an Automotive Technician. A Certificate earned at the KVCC Automotive Academy indicates readiness to perform the full range of duties expected of an entry level Automotive Technician. The Core Competencies align with industry recognized standards defined by the National Automotive Technology Education Foundation (NATEF) and as such provide the necessary foundation for success on the ASE certification examinations and the tests required by the State of Michigan for licensing automotive technicians. The Automotive Academy is an intense, fast paced program. The pace and structure are modeled after a work environment. The program based on Industry Standards as well as KVCC requirements for an accelerated competency based program. „XExtensive coverage of vehicle systems technology, including industry standard electronic service information. „XHands-on case studies, practiced daily to reinforce important concepts and expected service standards. „XIndustry Service standards ¡§Fix it right the first time¡¨. „XPractical use of electronic shop management software and state of the art service equipment. „XHands on case studies, strategy based diagnostics and parts ordering processes are practiced thoroughly. „XOpen lab and public ¡§Service Clinics¡¨ to practice shop management and customer service skills. „XNATEF Standards Job worksheets, ASE correlated to task lists. „XReview and practice ASE style tests. „XDaily self assessment and progress review.
