Description Michigan Institute of Aviation & Technology offers a full-time comprehensive program which leads to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Maintenance Certificates. These FAA Certificates are required for employment in the United States and many nations. In just 20 months, students acquire several employable skills, which enhance their career preparation. MIAT offers practical learning experiences. Students begin learning in the classroom, then apply what they learn on actual aircraft equipment in the lab portion of the course. Since each student begins on the same level, beginning with the entry-level courses, then stepping up to more advanced courses, no previous aviation experience is necessary.
