Description Medical Administrative Assistants are members of the supporting cast that helps maintain a health care facility's service and performance. You will play an instrumental role to ensure the efficient operation of the hospital unit and medical office by performing administrative and clerical tasks, such as maintaining medical records, scheduling appointments and medical tests, keeping supplies stocked, and communicating with other health care professionals, patients and visitors. You may also perform other duties such as performing routine and regulatory checks, patient placement and transfer including admission and discharge forms, and specimen labeling. The Medical Administrative Assistant usually works under the supervision of the Registered Nursing staff or the Health Information Administrator. One of your main responsibilities is to act as a liaison between the patients and staff. This course will teach you the fundamentals of the Medical Administrative Assistant role.

COMPASS scores of Writing Level 4; Score 70 and above Reading Level 4; Score 81 and above Math - Level 2 (Numerical/Pre-Algebra); Score 44 and above is required. Students are required to have a physical examination; Documentation of Negative TB Skin Test,Documentation of MMR (Measles, Mumps & Rubella) immunization, Documentation of Td (tetanus) immunization and criminal background check required
