Description The Computer Technology program prepares students for several IT industry careers by providing in-depth exposure to computer hardware and operating systems. Students learn from the functionality of hardware and software components, as well as suggested best practices in maintenance and safety issues. Through hands-on activities and lab, students learn how to assemble and configure a computer, install operating sustems and software, as well as troubleshoot hardware and software problems. This program helps students prepare for Comp TIA's A+ certification, Microsoft Certified System Engineer, and Microsoft Certified Systems Administrators exams.

Admission Requirements Students are required to fulfill the following requirements: • Fulfill all WCCCD admission requirements. • Declare intent to enter this program on the WCCCD admission application or change intent at the campus admission office. • Fulfill course placement requirements based on COMPASS test. • Students must complete WCCCD program admission applications during the semester they are enrolled in the EE 101, DC Fundamentals course and submit them to the Campus Academic & Student Services Officer.
