Description The Production Machining industry exists in a true global marketplace that is radically and rapidly changing. The production machinist will most likely find themselves in a highly competitive, computer- controlled, lean manufacturing environment. This program is Step 1 in SMC's ladder program for Precision Production Technology. You will earn a PPT-Basic Skills Endorsement Certificate and be considered for hire by our area industry partners as an entry-level trained machinist. After completed the basic skills program, you may wish to continue to enhance your skills and career by going onto Step 2 -- the Certificate in Precision Production Technology.

Admission Requirements You will need to demonstrate proficiencies in reading, English, and mathematics based on SMC assessment tests; ACT, SAT, or MEAP scores; or by taking the recommended classes. ACE testing is available for a number of the courses listed.
