Description This AWS certificate program will prepare you for 90% of welding jobs available. This is a 12-week comprehensive program covering SMAW (arc), GMAW (mig), FCAW (flux core), GTAW (tig), welding. The program also includes safety, drawing and welding symbol interpretation, cutting processes, and weld inspection. This certification meets national skill standard for the training and qualification of welding personnel. Upon successful completion, students receive Mott Community College and American Welding Society certification certificates, which are recorded in the AWS National Registry. The program is divided into five courses. 1) Occupational orientation 2) Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) 3) Gas metal arc welding [GMAW-S, GMAW (spray)] 4) Flux cored arc welding (FCAW-G/GM, FCAW-S) 5) Gas tungsten arc welding. Student must take Occupational orientation first. Courses 2-4 can be taken independently to receive Mott Community Certification or as a series Only successful completion of all five courses will receive AWS Certification Certificates.
