Description Every manufacturing industry relies on the welding process in the production and maintenance areas. In this basic skills program, you will earn a Welding Basic Skills Endorsement Certificate and be considered for hire by our area industry partners as an entry-level trained welder. This program is Step 1 in SMC's ladder program to develop skilled welders for the southwest Michigan and northern Indiana areas.

Admission Requirements 1)You will need to demonstrate proficiences in reading, English and mathematics based on SMC assessment tests; ACT, SAT or MEAP scores; or by taking the recommended classes. 2)You will need to demonstrate competency through testing in computer information systems. If unable to do so, you must take ISYS 110 (computer class).
