Description Kirtland's program in Welding & Fabricating is designed to provide instruction in the development of techniques and understanding of quality weldments. The program includes practice in shielded metal arc welding, oxy-acetylene welding and cutting, gas tungsten arc welding, flux cored arc welding and gas metal arc welding processes. Students will have an understanding of the metallurgical aspects of the weld structure, welding equipment construction, welding codes, planning and estimating, and applying current industrial techniques. This program leads to an Associate in Applied Science degree which has a minimum of 62 credit hours.
