Description Welding has become an almost universal process in manufacturing, construction, agriculture and various service industries. It also has many personal uses in terms of home and workshop projects as well as applications in the field of art. This program will provide the student with a technical background in the welding field in addition to entry-level (or above) employment skills in the following: Oxyacetylene Welding, Brazing and Cutting (OAW), Electric Arc Welding (SMAW), TIG welding (GTAW) and MIG welding (GMAW).

Admission Requirements Admission to St. Clair County Community College is open to all applicants who are high school graduates or have successfully completed the General Education Development (GED) Test and those eligible for Ability to Benefit. Individuals who have stopped attending high school but whose high school class has not graduated as of the intended application date will not be considered for admission until such time as the date of graduation occurs.
