Description This is a non-credit course offered completely online through WMU's Extended University Program's Professional Development department CompTIA™ is the Computing Technology Industry Association, and CompTIA™ A+ certification program is the industry standard for validating the skills expected of entry-level computer technicians. CompTIA™ A+ certification opens the door to an exciting career in computer technology, and ed2go's online program makes training convenient, interactive, and enjoyable. The CompTIA™ A+ program will give you an online certificate of completion and prepare you for two CompTIA™ A+ certification exams: A+ Essentials and A+ Practical Application. Topics covered in the program include motherboards, memory, processors, video, storage media and devices, printers, operating systems, networking, security, and more. Gaining CompTIA™ A+ certification assures employers and computer owners that a PC repair technician has the requisite knowledge to build, upgrade, optimize, troubleshoot, and repair personal computer (PC) systems. Please note that if you receive your A+ certification before 1/1/2011, you will be a lifetime credential holder not subject to credential renewals. If you achieve the certification after 1/1/2011, you will be subject to a renewal process every three years. Register today to start working toward a lifetime credential! This is a self-paced online module in which you have 150 hours in which to complete it on your own schedule
