Description Prepare for employment as a Dental Assistant through practical experience in performing basic chair side assisting procedures. Lab time allows for practicing such tasks as making impressions, oral evacuation, instrument transfer, four-handed dentistry procedures, and scheduling appointments using dental office software. Upon successful completion of this course, continuing Education opportunities include: Students with two years of work experience can sit for the Certified Dental Assistant exam, which is a national certification given by the Dental Assisting National Board, Inc. Students have the option to enroll in the Radiography course, also offered by Thompson M-TEC. Passing the class's certification test endorses students to take X-rays in the State of Michigan.
